Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes a minicorpus of translated texts, trying to sketch a typology of the main manifestations of translation and retranslation with regard to the use of neologisms in Romanian translated texts. It also tries to suggest a link between updating (and synchronizing) translation and reticence in linguistic use, also based on the author’s experience as a translator.
