Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the article is to discuss the procedural powers of social organizations whose statutory objective is to protect animals. The research was aimed primarily at determining the prerequisites for the possibility of participation of a social organization in administrative proceedings and the prerequisites for social organizations to exercise the rights of the aggrieved party in criminal proceedings, in infractions proceedings and in juvenile proceedings . The findings made in this regard are complemented by comments on the recent amendments to the Act of 21 August 1997 on the protection of animals, regarding the procedural powers of social organizations whose statutory objective is to protect animals.
