Summary/Abstract: Memorates are among the verbal narrative types of folk literature. They consist of narratives that emerge as a result of communication with supernatural beings and are based on individual experience. In terms of characteristics such as being based on supernatural individual experience, being told by people who lived or heard the event, having a high rate of credibility, not having a general narrative time and a special narrator, having a recent past, happening in the geography we live in, the heroes being composed of ordinary people, etc. memorates differ from other types of verbal narrative. They are similar to other species in that they contain the belief structure, moral values, cultural features, traditions and customs of the society in which they were created and lived, and also in that they convey their cultural codes. In this study, the examples of memorates, which are named last among the verbal narrative types and constitute the last of the narrative series for now, have been tried to be evaluated in terms of subject, content and form features. In the study, it is aimed to extract the regional characteristics of memorates and to contribute to national and international genre studies. Interview method was used in the data collection phase.
