Summary/Abstract: The chamber choir “Psalmodia Transylvanica” is the most prestigious choral formation in the Metropolitanate of Cluj, Maramureş and Sălaj and one of the most prestigious in the Romanian Patriarchate. It is a choral formation that recently completed three decades of existence. The name of the choir is closely linked to its objectives set since its founding in April 1990, namely, the approach of a religious repertoire of Byzantine tradition, created in the Transylvanian space, which has always promoted a church music of Byzantine origin, with traditional accents specific to Transylvania. Over the years, through the combined efforts of the conductor and the chanters, a choral formation was consolidated that responded with a lot of professionalism to all the invitations received within the country and from abroad. The “Psalmodia Transylvanica” choir has also participated in numerous competitions, festivals, choral reunions in the country and abroad, obtaining awards and distinctions. The rich and varied repertoire of the “Psalmodia Transylvanica” Choir, includes masterpieces of church music, Romanian folk works and pieces from the universal choral musical treasure.
