Summary/Abstract: The present study is motivated by the legal possibility of spelling the names of members of the Bulgarian national minority in the Republic of Serbia, according to the Bulgarian spelling standard, as well as by the fact that the anthroponyms of the local population have not been the subject of research in the specified applied aspect. The main purpose of this paper is to identify important difficulties that may arise in the practice of spelling the names of the local population in Bulgarian, as well as to discuss the historical and administrative aspects that had an impact on the spelling of personal and, in particular, family names of Bulgarians in Tsaribrod, Serbia.
