Summary/Abstract: This paper aims at showing the meanings and uses of the perfect tense in some of the grammars of Serbian and Bulgarian. For this purpose a short synopsis of the similarities and differences in usage of this tanse in Serbian and Bulgarian will be made and presented. The paper also aims at analyzing the various cases of translation equivalence of the perfect tense from the original text under identical conditions. The object of paper represents prose texts in Serbian translated more than once into Bulgarian.
