Summary/Abstract: The aim of this research is to evaluate students' perceptions about dangerous substances and precautions. The factors affecting chemistry students' perceptions about dangerous substances and taking precautions were examined. In the study; a literature review was conducted and the dangerous substance and precaution perception scale developed by the researcher was used in line with the expert opinions. The research was carried out in the academic year 2018-2019. 190 students participated in the research applied on Kocaeli Vocational School Chemistry Technology students. Data of 188 students were used in the analysis. 26.60% of the students participating in the research are male and 73.40% are female. A questionnaire was used to collect the research data. The questionnaire consists of two parts. The first part consists of ten questions regarding the dangerous substance and the precautions to be taken. Reliability of dangerous substance perception dimension .98; The reliability of the dangerous substance perception dimension was calculated as .87. The total reliability of the scale was determined as 0.98. The second part consists of four questions regarding students' gender, class, mother and father education levels. On the perception of dangerous substances in the class in which education is given; gender has been observed to make a difference in perception of dangerous substance.
