Summary/Abstract: Servicing in civil administration especially in the Eastern Provinces since 1889, Haydar Beg was the governor of Van province between March 1918 and August 1919 and then he went to Erzurum to support Mustafa Kemal Pasha. Haydar Beg, who joined the Last Ottoman Parliamentary Assembly in Istanbul in January 1920 as a Van deputy, also elected as Van deputy to the National Parliament convened in Ankara. During the First Period of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Haydar Beg made proposals and recommendations on various issues, gave speeches on very important issues such as the Mosul Question, participated in the preparatory works of the Law for Administration of Villages and Sub-districts, He was sent to Van by Mustafa Kemal Pasha within the scope of the Mosul Operation, and he was the Governor of Konya during this duty. In this study, the activities of Van deputy Haydar Beg during the First Assembly Period will be discussed by using the General Staff Archive, the Presidential Archive, the Republic Archive, the Minutes of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and second hand sources.
