Summary/Abstract: The article presents a test method of e-shop websites based on contemporary Web development standards and the best practices in e-commerce. The authors tested a hundred of Polish e-shop websites representing ten prominent branches of Polish e-commerce laveraging the proposed method and then conducted a comparative analysis of websites in sectoral approach. As a result a method has been verified and data collected that will help in further method improvement. The proposed approach may find practical applications in business analyses, in benchmarking and projects oriented on e-shop websites development and improvement.
