Summary/Abstract: This article presents legal regulations concerning the socio-economic model from the perspective of the Republic of Poland’s and other countries’ constitutions. By definition, state constitutions are to specify regulations of the socio-economic systems and they do so in a similar way. However, there is no single universal model for the free-market economy. The Republic of Poland’s Constitution, in its Article 20, refers to the Polish economic system in terms of the social market economy. This implies a market economy combining the elements of economic liberalism with those of a welfare state.
