Culture in Slovak Dailies

Summary/Abstract: In our society, concerns about insufficient space for culture in Slovak mass media are widespread. This is one of the reasons, why the study focuses at place and importance of culture in Slovak dailies. Its aim is point out, how chosen Slovak dailies approach to cultural topics and how these media inform about culture. The study answers these questions with preliminary research based on content and genre analysis. This paper also uses results from quantitative research in the form of questionnaire. This study partly fol- lows the similar research published in Otázky žurnalistiky, conducted by the researchers of Novinársky študijný ústav (Institute for the study of journalism) in 1996.
