Summary/Abstract: In the last few years rural areas of Poland became an important environment of tourism development. One can measure the phenomenon of it by the rapid increase of the number of rural tourism and agritourism enterprises. The paper analyses natural environment values as a determinant of rural tourism development in Poland. The research covered chosen natural environment and landscape values analyzed within 314 administrative land districts of Poland (poviats). The modified Hellwig’s pattern method was used to conduct the research. Then the valorization and classification of administrative units by natural environment values were conducted. Finally correlation between the aggregate measure and the number of agritourism enterprises and the number of beds in agritourism enterprises in Poland was calculated. The conducted analyses indicates that the north-eastern and southern regions of Poland have better natural environment potential for the development of rural tourism and agritourism.
