Summary/Abstract: This article presents the main milestones of the artistic biography of Mikhail Vasilievich Sechkin, a famous Moldovan conductor, pianist and pedagogue. The author analyzes his contribution to the formation of the national traditions of opera-symphonic conducting art and music pedagogy, taking as a basis the analysis of factual material and the comments made by his colleagues, disciples and prominent people of arts. It is concluded that M.V. Sechkin played a major role in the development of musical art in the Republic of Moldova.
