Summary/Abstract: The text examines use of the verb podívat se (“to take a look”), in its non-central sense, as a verb of motion; the author utilizes corpus analysis of the CzeSL SGS and Merlin corpora to reflect upon the use of this specific seme of the verb by non-native speakers of Czech. The aim of the text is to draw attention to the possibility of intentionally extending the semantic field of motion verbs for nonnative speakers of Czech.
