Summary/Abstract: In the light of the Catechesi tradendae the parish is the main and ordinary place of Catholic education. The community of believers who gather regularly for the liturgy as well as occasional practitioners receive “the bread of sound doctrine and the Eucharistic bread” in one liturgical celebration. The liturgy of the Word with the homily is a privileged and effective means of education. In the liturgy the chief educator is God with his authority. Obedience to faith enables both clergy and laity to form a diverse community that listens to God’s revelation and make the kingdom of heaven present. The “Creed” is the most exquisite expression of doctrine and a tool for shaping obedience by faith. The inspiring role of the liturgy in upbringing in the family should be clearly emphasized when parents and children celebrate the sacraments, Sundays and the celebrations of the liturgical year together. The transcendent dimension of liturgical education is also manifested in the fact that God is the main goal of references, prayers, internal acts of will, moral decisions, noble resolutions and ultimate desires.
