Summary/Abstract: Linking Europe, Asia and Africa, Afghanistan was along the History an „Invasion Route” of the Great Empires and the „No Man’s Land” hard to be crossed, conquered or kept, having an extremely poor population, but very rich in terms of natural resources. It was always surrounded by strong neighbors (such as Pakistan, India or Iran), enjoying the Peace only when those neighbors had common economic interests to keep its status-quo of normality and calm. The current situation combined with the scheduled withdrawal of the Allies this year will have a major impact translated on the ground into socio-political insecurity, economic and financial instability, a dramatic reduction of the humanitarian aid and investments and finally, most probably into Civil War.
