Summary/Abstract: The picture of wisdom and folly, great deeds and laughable weaknesses in Marguerite de Navarre’s Heptaméron, cannot be complete without the evocation of contempt. This feeling is never the main subject of this short stories, but he appears in the moral choices and judgments of the characters. This paper focuses above all on the contempt as one of the marks of pride in its noble, courteous and evangelical dimension.
