Summary/Abstract: No matter what positions we take about man – an essentialist one or not - or what meaning we attach to the word ”reason”, it is generally accepted that man is a rational individual and that he makes choices, in the simplest way, depending on his preferences, on choosing how to consume certain resources, in order to achieve certain results; the act of choosing is, in itself, exclusive, you can choose something, to the detriment of something else; this character of exclusions is familiar to economists, which they identify it as ”cost opportunity”: choosing an alternative means giveing up spending resources for the second one, in terms of order of preference or utility.
