Summary/Abstract: The economic goal of any open market enterprise, including a media enterprise, is to generate profit and add value to the enterprise. However, each enterprise operates in a specific social and cultural context, which requires taking into account the needs and expectations of the local community. These needs can be ranked in three areas: economic, social and environmental. The complexity of the system of economic and social goals causes that within it there are relationships between individual goals that may be neutral, complementary or contradictory. In his article, the author draws his research attention to emerging dilemmas in the economic field. These problems are analyzed in the light of the social responsibility of media companies.
