Summary/Abstract: The important steps taken by the Ottomans during the Westernization period led to the emergence of some discontent as well as the satisfaction of ensuring the equality of the subjects. Reaya, ulama, sects, bureaucracy and madrasah students stand out as the actors of the protests. These movements sometimes arise from injustices in taxation, and sometimes from political demands that threaten the survival of the state. It is certain that the roots of the resistance movements in this period were tax injustices and the reactions against the officials who implemented the reforms. The importance of the resistance of madrasah students against political and social problems is that they are opposition movements with a political character and that they emerged only among Turkish students.
