Summary/Abstract: The controversial post-war reconstruction project of Chisinau prepared by the author A. V. Schiusev was considered to be the only post-war plan. It was improved with the adjustment to the concrete relief of the city in Robert Kurt’s studio. The project meant not only the rebuilding of the ruined Chisinau, but also the future development of the city with the arrangement of the peripheries and the cohesion with the surrounding villages in a classicist vision. But there was another project to optimize the spatial-volumetric structure of Chisinau, a breakthrough in recent years, highlighting that the project was executed by the architect Octav Doichescu with the engineer Gulamida. From the first look, we observe the presence of planimetric and functional-organizational similarities between this project and the post-war reconstruction project of Chisinau, elaborated in the workshop of Schiusev. The morphological and functional analysis of the plans invalidates a direct takeover of the solutions from the Romanian plan into the Soviet plan.
