The R&D activity in EU countries, Japan and the USA

Summary/Abstract: The article presents basic data on R&D units in Poland as well as R&D expenditures in GDP of the EU-countries, Japan and the United States of America. The CSO of Poland and Eurostat data are used in the analysis. To the leading countries belong Japan, the USA, Finland and Sweden. The article discusses national as well as regional programmes supporting the R&D activities.
