Summary/Abstract: One of the first specialized volumes devoted to the “new muse” of audiovisual production, published in the former Soviet Union, was entitled Television is an Art (1962). Hence, the multitude of cultural programs, the generous financing of the television films and the emergence of the “Soviet School of TV theatre” - a field that has achieved many remarkable results in its prize list. It is enough just to mention the names of the directors Anatoly Efros, Piotr Fomenko, Iuri Fokin, Mark Zaharov, Mihail Kozakov, Roman Viktiuk, etc., and of our famous theater director Ion Ungureanu. The audiovisual works of the Bessarabian director Ion Ungureanu, performed at the Central Television in Moscow: the film-show The Birds of Our Youth by Ion Druţă, the TV shows Lika (after a novel by the Russian novelist and scriptwriter Armen Zurabov); Nora after the famous play by the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, A Doll House, as well as the documentary film Meetings with Evgeni Evstigneev, dedicated to one of Russia’s greatest theater and film actors, are analyzed in this scientific research paper.
