Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes nine different performances presented by various countries: “Employment of clown” and “Migrants or there are too many on this damn boat” after the plays of M. Vishniec staged by I. L. Caragiale Satiricus Theater, “What Shall We Do with the Cello?” after M. Vishniec played by the “Atelier Theater Studio” Company from England, the psychodrama “Equus” after P. Shaffer, the shows “CHMO” (“ЧМО”), after V. Levasov, “Mama Brave and her children” after B. Brecht, the monodrama “Barber in the province”, by N. Lordkipanidze, staged by the State Dramatic Youth Theater “S ulitsi roz”; “Occident express” by M. Vishniec staged by the “Trap door” Theater from Chicago, the black comedy of the theater of the absurd “Horses at the Window” after M. Vishniec, staged by the Italian Theater “Teatro dell’ Argine” from Bologna. These shows reveal themes in the realm of a mythology of war brought to the absurd; expose the deep meanings of the existence of humanity, the loss of the feeling of homeland, of aspirations to a beautiful, comfortable life anywhere on the planet.
