Summary/Abstract: The Operation Vistula has an exceptional place in the post-war history of Poland. It is difficult to explain why. One of the reasons could be the fact that the wounds after these events have not healed and it is impossible to talk about what happened in the Bieszczady in the second half of the 1940s in an emotionless way. The following story is not a historical but rather a story about a story. To be more precise, it is a story about writing a book based on memoirs. It reveals everything that a reader of a book does not normally see. The main characters of the book were forced displaces due to the Operation Vistula presented in their stories, impressions, feeling and issues that they encountered in the so-called Recovered Territories whereas this story focuses on the book author and his experiences. The story is not factual, although all the events are authentic, however, with some deliberate deviations to better build up readers’ emotions. Does it, then, complete the book with the stories of forced displaces? Everyone will have to answer this question on their own.
