A New Study on the South Slavic Legal Literature

Summary/Abstract: The edition ‘Prochiron / Urban Law’ by Prof. Mariana Tsibranska-Kostova is a study of a medieval legal monument related to the history of Bulgarian law. The research is based on the wide-approach and methodology, interpreting the considered matter in philological, legal and historical aspect. The author traces the history of the monument, the research about it and gives his interpretation of the topic. The Slavic text of Prochiron and a translation into modern Bulgarian were published as appendices. The study can be assessed as the most significant for the last decades in this scientific field.
