Health Education in Preschool Institutions Based on the Method of Sebastian Kneipp

Summary/Abstract: In Germany there are over 50 thousand pre-school institutions. Consistently since 2001, the number of institutions that are interested in implementing the method represented by the Kneipp Association is increasing. Today more than 250 of them have the license “Zertifikat vom Kneipp-Bund e.V. anerkannte Kindertageseinrichtung” and operate according to the method developed by Sebastian Kneipp. Kneipp in pre-school institutions stands for active and healthy living. Children with their joy of life are the best example for demonstrating a healthy everyday life according to the Kneipp principles, that are based on five elements namely the right rhythm of life, acting through movement, using plants and herbs, healthy food and the use of water.
