An Analysis of the Technical Education Textbooks for 4th Grade of Primary School in Slovakia

Summary/Abstract: In the article the three didactic tools (the two textbooks and a workbook) for Technical Education for 4th grade of Primary school are analysed. They were analysed and evaluated from the viewpoint of the extent, content, structural elements, didactic equipment, learning tasks, and illustrations. The Mistrík's measure of the comprehensibility of the text was applied. They were also compared to the didactic tools of Technical Education for 3rd level of Primary school published by the same publishers. The research results show that researched didactic tools characterized by the variability in each researched aspect. The authors of the research propose to enrich the current offer of the textbooks. The new textbook would combine the advantages of the three analysed didactic tools. The article is the result of the VEGA project No. 1/0383/19 Analysis of the state in Technical Education and development of technical skill of pupils at Primary school.
