Summary/Abstract: This study deals with academic achievement, academic stress and the personality of university students at the Faculty of Education, University in Prešov. This topic is at the interface of pedagogy, psychology, but also special pedagogy and the aim is to find out whether there are connections between these three constructs. The research survey was attended by 154 students,aged 19 - 49 years. The following methods were used as research methods: academic achievement questionnaire, academic stress inventory, five-factor personality inventory. Data were analyzed in statistic software using a descriptive calculation of statistics and Pearson‘s correlation coefficient.The results showed that there is a negative correlation between academic achievement and academic stress. Furthermore, a negative correlation was found between academic achievement and neuroticism, while a positive correlation was found in the dimension of extraversion and openness to experience. In the context of academic stress and personality dimensions, a positive correlation was found in the case of neuroticism and conscientiousness. The results of the study will be discussed and compared with a similar study focused on students with special educational needs.
