Summary/Abstract: The oldest Transylvanian-Saxon town-chronicles of Braşov/Kronstadt (from the 16-th century), prepared for a new, critic and bilingual edition, are containing various informations about the world in which their authors lived in. Besides data about the main political and military events of the day, and astonishing natural phenomena, the Transylvanian-Saxon chroniclers of Braşov/Kronstadt recorded to some interesting informations about monuments and architectural ensembles of their hometown, and even from Transylvania. This study reveals this kind of informations about civil and military monuments from the city of Braşov/Kronstadt and analyses the place and role of the mentioned informations in the history of monuments such as: The Great Parish Church (also known The Black Church), the Town Hall, the city walls, gates and towers, as well as the fortifications outside the city walls.
