Summary/Abstract: This study presents the evolution of the Clock Tower, as a historic monument of Sighişoara. This representative monument from the 14-th century, which had several functions during the centuries, such as Town Hall, seat of the Town Armoury and Town Archive, was restored at the end of the 19-th century and transformed into Town History Museum. If at the mid 19-th century it was used just as an fire watch tower and private residence, the Clock Tower Museum grew at the end of the same century; through the work of the founder of this institution, Dr. Josef Bacon, and with the support and financial help of the „Sebastian Hann” Association, the first objects of the Museum were collected. At the same time, the Clock Tower was restored. On the inside were made interior arrangements and partitions, which where necessary for a Museum and which remained until today.
