Summary/Abstract: The present paper deals with the data for the so-called svrahyakane (overusing of “ya”, i.e. golyami, zhivyali, vidyani instead of golemi, zhiveli, videni) in the plural forms of participles and adjectives. The examples are extracted from the databases and the spoken language corpora as well as from the written internet communication. On one side, this work analyses the public attitudes towards the svrahyakane based upon the results from a nationally representative survey. On the other side, it gives highlight to the correlations between the attitudes towards the svrahyakane and the attitudes towards some other nonstandard markers.
