Decoupage idiosyncrasique d’une zone conceptuelle: l’avarice

Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the onomasiological area of AVARICE by comparing its various linguistic realizations in Romanian and in French. We notice, on the one hand, a scalar structuring of the area, ranging from a low to a maximum degree of intensity, passing through a canonical medium intensity area. The two extreme areas neighbour other conceptual areas. On the other hand, the analysis of the realizations, especially the complex non-compositional structures, reveals the existence of a specific conceptual shaping, the realizations identified being in most cases conditioned by socio-cultural factors.
