Career Education as Part of Lifelong Learning

Summary/Abstract: Career education is an educational content that has been reconceptualized over time. Initially, there was profes- sional orientation, which concerned adults alone; later adolescents started receiving school-based professional orientation. At the moment all people, regardless of gender, age, or qualifications, are involved in lifelong career education. The reconceptuali- zation of this content is influenced by the permanent change in the relationship between the individual and his environment. The growing development of technology, the digitization of personal life and professional activity require a continuous improvement of skills and continuous search for a favorable context for self-development.
