Summary/Abstract: In this work general aspects regarding the good conduct in scientific research are approached, especially for research-development related activities, realised of doctoral students, as well as the possible sanctions that can apply in the case of infringement of the rules regarding the quality standards or the professional ethics standards. Failure to comply with quality or professional ethics standards, including the existence of plagiarism, in a doctoral thesis, can be reported both at the time of evaluation and validation of the doctoral thesis, in order to submit the proposal for granting the doctoral degree by the Ministry of Education and Research, and at a date subsequent to the granting of the doctoral degree, regardless of the date of the defence of the doctoral thesis and the date of granting the doctoral degree. Failure to comply with quality or professional ethics standards, if the allegations are proven to be well-funded, may lead to the application of sanctions such as: withdrawal of doctoral degree, withdrawal of the capacity of doctoral supervisor and/or withdrawal of doctoral school accreditation. Most of the time, deviations from good conduct in the research-development activity takes the form of plagiarism and/or self-plagiarism as a result of voluntary and/or involuntary non-compliance with the quotation rules.
