A few comments on the book by Mariusz Patelski on the independent students’ movement in Opole

Summary/Abstract: the book by Mariusz Patelski under the title Niezależne Zrzeszenie Studentów w Opolu 1980– –1990(the independent Students’ association of 1980–1990) is a monograph on the activity of students’ opposition environment in Opole Region during the years which were of the key importance at the decline of the Polish People’s Republic and in the time of the sociopolitical system transformation. in a wide sociopolitical and economic context, the genesis of the organization, its multidimensional functioning and organizational dilemmas were presented. the role of this environment was presented in forming the sociopolitical awareness of the academic youth of Opole, as well as their contribution which its members brought in the process of liberalization of the political system of the People’s Republic.
