Summary/Abstract: Gambling is not a phenomenon of the modern world, they existed since ancient times, being supported by the decision makers and cultures in one form or another, being one of the oldest aspects of human behavior that has accompanied us by centuries of evolution and civilization. The desire to win by taking risks has been an instinctual force of the human gene, which together with the primary instincts of thirst, hunger, etc. has led to the extension of survival mechanisms. Gambling should be viewed as a reason to disconnect, spend the free time or having fun. The prohibition of gambling would lead inexorably to the emergence of psychopathologies much more serious than the current dependence on pathological gambling.
