Summary/Abstract: The connection between national culture and language is studied in this article and, in juxtaposition, similar elements of the spiritual and material culture of the Bulgarian and the Roumanian peoples are analyzed in the similarly structured appellations which are conditioned by it, such as: the Bulgarian cherepnja and the Roumanian test; banitsa and placinta; sedjanka and sezatoare; povratki and intorsuri; pobratim, posestrim and firta, surata, etc.
