Summary/Abstract: Beyond all criticism received, Hannah Arendt’s phenomenological investigation on the origins and nature of totalitarianism, still remains a momentous reference in political philosophy. The main contribution of this important thinker of XX-th century lies in making evident the causal link between modern age’s features and the emergence of the totalitarian phenomenon. For that reason, this article, entitled “Totalitarianism as a pathology of the modernity, in Hannah Arendt’s political thought”, tries to show the way in which arendtian reflection on totalitarianism is grounded on a reflection about modernity, about the essence and degradation of politics and, above all, about human condition.
