Summary/Abstract: Birth under anonymity represents the opportunity offered by the French legislator to a woman to give birth without revealing her identity and without establishing a maternal filiation. The benefits offered by anonymity seem obvious, because it guarantees the stability and peace of the families (that of the woman or the adoptive parents), allows the woman to decide about her body and, at the same time, protects the child at birth. However, such a procedure may paralyze the exercise of the other similar rights. In this article, we will treat the variation of the right to know our origins, in contrast to the women's right of not becoming a mother. Whether we refer to the ancestral issues of filiation such as abandonment, or to the contemporary ones, such as anonymous birth, the right to know our origins will always be a serious reason for debate. In this context, which interest will prevail in front of the legislator: the mother's, the child's, the father's, or the interest of the adoptive parents?
