Summary/Abstract: In addition to the principles of personal data processing, the grounds for processing and the rights of data subjects, the General Data Protection Regulation sets out a number of tools and mechanism for the effective management of specific situations that may arise in the context of managing this category of data. Such a mechanism is intended to provide the regulatory and operational framework for the processing of personal details by two or more entities on the basis of the existence of a legal act between them. The present analysis aims to investigate the relationship between the entities that, based on a contract, protocol or other legal act that gives rise to specific obligations and rights between the parties, jointly process sets of personal data, each with clear roles established by the legal act and responsibilities well determined according to the legal provisions in force.
