Summary/Abstract: After following the research of the bibliography of some authors from abroad and in the country, the authors of the article analyze the existing doctrines, regarding the air defense against nuclear ballistic missiles, as an essential component of the modern war and, as such, formulate their opinions on this subject. The authors conclude that the defense against ballistic missiles is the current essential danger, not only for the armed forces but also for the population and, in general, in case of use thereof, for the very existence of life on the Blue Planet.
