- Summary/Abstract:The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant changes in all areas of social and economic life. The fiscal policy conducted by the state also had to be adapted to the new conditions. Counteracting the effects of the pandemic requires, first of all, the commitment of much larger public expenditure, including expenditure from the state budget. Activities in the area of state budget expenditure have been correlated with measures relating to state budget revenues. The discussed actions in the area of fiscal policy indicate a significant commitment of financial and organizational resources to counteract the effects of the pandemic. Many new legal acts have been drawn up, a number of changes to the existing regulations have been introduced, and significant funds have been allocated.

(The Increasing Significance of Cryptocurrencies on the International Financial Market)
- Author(s):Mirosław Przygoda
- Language:Polish
- Subject(s):Business Economy / Management
- Page Range:39-81
- No. of Pages:43
- Keywords:bitcoin; cryptocurrencies; financial market; internet; new system
- Summary/Abstract:From today’s perspective, cryptocurrencies as a new economic instrument seem to be a sign of all but a great revolution on the modern financial market. There are plainly visible growing changes in the fields of capital and funds management and one of the consequences is the ever-rising popularity of cryptocurrencies. The world economy is being increasingly influenced by this new system of circulating funds, based entirely on electronic devices. It also directly impacts the decisions, actions and opportunities of millions of individual investors. These changes can only be compared to such revolutionary past phenomena as the printing of the banknote, the abandonment of the gold standard or the introduction of electronic money in the form of credit cards. The ubiquity of electronic currencies is also undoubtedly related to common and constant access to the internet and to progressing globalization, leading to the conclusion that the cryptocurrency is only a natural consequence of the progress of human civilization.

- Author(s):Maria Magdalena Jagielska
- Language:Polish
- Subject(s):Business Economy / Management
- Page Range:82-98
- No. of Pages:17

- Summary/Abstract:Individuals interact with each other consciously or not. Consciously or not, they also succumb to suggestions. Knowledge of how to influence others and how to defend oneself against unwanted influence is also useful for board members, who should be aware of various techniques of influence. The psychology of management (but also behavioural economics) suggests how to avoid the situation in which only after making a certain decision will one realise that they have been manipulated. The use of the review method, focusing on theoretical decision-making practice, enables readers, including supervisory board members, to learn about the mechanisms that shape their behaviour in the decision-making process. In the era of the development of interdisciplinary sciences, board members should consider education in the proposed field as their professional duty, the failure to fulfil which may have serious consequences for the supervised capital company.

(Ways of Conducting Succession Family Enterprises)
- Author(s):Patrycja Zdanowicz-Pastuszak
- Language:Polish
- Subject(s):Business Economy / Management
- Page Range:99-119
- No. of Pages:21
- Keywords:inheritance; succession; family foundation
- Summary/Abstract:The subject of the elaboration are the methods of organizing the succession of a family enterprise in the Polish economy and in selected foreign economies, with particular emphasis on the Act on Succession Management, which came into force on November 25, 2018, and the planned changes establishing a family foundation. The succession of an enterprise, that is the transfer of all rights and obligations to its successors, is an important and current topic for entrepreneurs who started it over 20 years ago. The Act on Succession Management, which entered into force more than two years ago, only partially addresses the problems of entrepreneurs, as it regulates the principles of running a business after the death of a natural person running a sole proprietorship, leaving larger enterprises beyond its subjective and objective scope. The justification for the introduction of this regulation was the recognition that under the then legal status, maintaining full continuity of the company’s operations was practically impossible. The publication and discussion of the bill on the family foundation, which, as announced by the project initiator, is to minimize the risk of unsuccessful succession and guarantee the continuation of business activities of all enterprises, should be assessed positively.

(Legal Environment of an Insurance Intermediary as an Insurance Distributor)
- Author(s):Radosław Nowak
- Language:Polish
- Subject(s):Business Economy / Management
- Page Range:120-151
- No. of Pages:32
- Keywords:company environment; legal environment; legal risk; risk management
- Summary/Abstract:An insurance intermediary, like any other entrepreneur, operates in a formal and legal environment shaped by factors on which it has limited influence. This element of the external environment determines management decisions concerning the commencement and subsequent continuation of insurance distribution activities on the insurance services market. The article emphasises the role of a complex legal system in the financial markets, which is part of the macro-environment of the insurance services company, shaped by the EU and national legislation. This system is currently based on the leading paradigm of protecting the financial market consumer in the broadest sense. The author points out that the creation of a huge number of legal acts and regulations of a soft-law nature which are subject to frequent changes and of varying quality also encourages negative phenomena which constitute a significant obstacle to the stable functioning and development of agency and brokerage firms.
