Summary/Abstract: The textbook contains content related to the acquisition of goods necessary for an enterprise's day-to-day running. The supply processes for enterprises are currently very complex. The short life cycle of many products and the need to keep costs to a minimum make the procurement process very difficult. Identifying needs, selecting suppliers, negotiating purchase conditions, and choosing the type of transport, as well as the costs of procurement and creating and maintaining inventories, are numerous elements that make up the procurement process. The efficiency of the procurement process guarantees that the company will be competitive in the market. Savings and errors made at the initial stage of the procurement process affect the subsequent stages of production and service provision. In order to balance the supply and demand of a company's products, a large amount of information from different sources needs to be analyzed. For this analysis, well-qualified staff with high analytical competencies are necessary. They have tools such as IT systems to support material requirements planning and planning other enterprise resources.
