Summary/Abstract: The publication focuses on the description of education and training for future careers, including retraining throughout life for individuals with visual impairments from birth to old age. Rehabilitation approaches for people with congenital and acquired visual impairment are also described, including the system assisting in their integration into society. The publication also includes a research section dealing with the role of an important factor in supporting successful education. The study provides an analysis of the assessment by five Czech mothers of children with visual and multiple disabilities. The results show in particular the importance of the factor of the child acceptance by the parents, coping with the disability and loss of life optimism.
