Summary/Abstract: The publication is a translation of the final report on international research project Demand for sexual exploitation in Europe (DESIrE), conducted within the Prevention of and Fight against Crime Programme, financed by the European Commission. Five countries participated in the project: Belgium (coordination), Croatia, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden. The authors of the texts included in this report describe the connections and interactions between legislative and institutional solutions in the sexual services sector (prostitution) and human trafficking for sexual exploitation in the researched countries. The report concludes with practical proposals for solutions to counter human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
