Summary/Abstract: The present volume aims to highlight, through some documents from the archive of the Central Committee of Romanian Communist Party - which we consider essential -, the evolution of communist Romania from an unconditional alignment with Moscow's decisions to a policy on its own. In this evolution, the emergence of major divergences between China and the USSR provided the favorable historical context for the Romanian communists, who knew how to skillfully use the conflict between the two major parties of the communist world, in order to make its own voice heard.
