Summary/Abstract: Social attitudes and practices of public self-organization in the conditions of internal and external challenges to the unity of the Ukrainian people and the European choice of Ukraine are analyzed. Attention is focused on the importance of public initiatives and the activities of civil society organizations in countering the Russian hybrid aggression against Ukraine and overcoming its consequences. In the context of the implementation of the National Strategy for Promoting the Development of Civil Society in Ukraine for 2016–2020. the political and legal environment above the promotion of state-public interaction in the establishment of European standards of democracy and solidarity society is characterized. The analytical report is addressed to civil servants and officials of local self-government bodies, public and political figures, all those who are interested in the issues of civil society and its interaction with the state in the implementation of urgent social changes and proper governance through various practices of participatory democracy.
