Summary/Abstract: The digital age we live in is causing a shift in the environment in which media content is created, and numerous technological innovations have made the offer of audio-visual media content greater than a person’s ability to absorb it, almost surpassing their ability to choose. This, in turn, points to the necessity of adequately navigating the ocean of innovations and changes, both for the media and journalists, as well as for the audience/recipients. This book first presents the most significant theoretical frameworks about the concept and development of communication, technology, and media, as well as the changes brought about by digital technologies in the preparation, production, presentation, and reception of media content. After that, the results of empirical research in Bosnia and Herzegovina are presented through qualitative and quantitative media research, as well as the media habits of citizens/recipients. The book also reflects on the ubiquitous digitalization, or digital environment, the influence of media on society and individuals, the significance of online social networks in the modern age, and other relevant and important aspects of media activity in the digital age.
