Summary/Abstract: The interest in the media environment in Bulgaria is fueled by the manifold manifestations of political and economic dependencies of the media. External influence undermines confidence in the media and they lose their relevance as a means of forming an informed civil society, turning only into channels of private interest propaganda. Especially vulnerable is the press, which, due to the economic crisis and the competition of free online media, is subject to "political investment". Balancing and impartiality of the media are assessed by analyzing the online content of newspapers, information sites and national televisions. The media coverage of the debate over the second lift over Bansko, the suspension of South Stream, the local elections in 2015, as well as the general state of the regional media in Bulgaria are discussed.
